Clarifying Tank

This clarifying tank was a mass concrete pour, and in this case, that means the cement pour on this was about 8.5 feet deep! With that deep of a pour, our crew had to monitor the temperature of the reaction to ensure proper curing. For this job we used bluetooth temperature sensors, batched the mix with ice instead of water, poured in the cooler night temperatures, and ran cooling pipes throughout to circulate cold water. All of this helped us ensure the concrete set to specs and would stand the test of time. After all that monitoring, we also sent cores out to a lab to check for micro fractions. Once we received the all clear, the cooling lines were filled with fluid cement to increase stability of the pour and our crew was off to the next step.
